National authorities inspected a restaurant chain at locations in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom in June to tackle serious labour and social offenses. Some restaurants had to be closed immediately and several fines were imposed on the spot.

ELA has published its new information leaflet for posted workers in the construction sector. It provides information about the rights of posted workers in this specific sector and the actions to take before and during the posting.

One of the Good Practice Awards in the field of road transport was presented to the Polish National Labour Inspectorate, for the good practice ‘Drivers’ working time and road traffic accidents’.

One of the Good Practice Awards in the field of seasonal work was presented to EURES Slovakia, Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, for the good practice “Cooperation in seasonal employment between Slovakia and the Netherlands”. The practice was awarded as it can be easily implemented by countries with similar demands in seasonal work.

One of the Good Practice Awards in the field of seasonal work was presented to Arbeit und Leben DGB/VHS Berlin-Brandenburg, for the good practice ‘Transnational governmental and non-governmental cooperation to inform Moldovan seasonal workers in German agriculture’. Thanks to the project, around 400 seasonal workers from Moldova received support from National Employment Agency Moldova, IOM and Arbeit und Leben DGB/VHS Berlin-Brandenburg  during recruitment
