Navigating Europe's labour mobility landscape
5 years of ELA and 30 years of EURES
ELA’s annual conference marks two important anniversaries, 5 years of ELA and 30 years of EURES. It is a high-level event for ELA stakeholders and policy makers to take stock on the work done so far and look forward on selected topics important for ELA for making labour mobility more effective and fair.
The conference will build on the outcome of the Belgian Presidency conference on ELA and relevant aspect of ELA TECH Conference.
The conference brings together high-level representatives from the Member States, social partners institutions and European institutions to take stock of the work done so far and look forward on selected topics important for the future of the European Labour Authority to continue making labour mobility more effective and fair.
Interpretation is provided in 5 languages: EN, FR, DE, ES, IT.
Highlight and key moments form the ELA annual conference 2024.
We still have a long way to go to achieve ELA’s objective to have fair and effective labour mobility smoothly operating in practice. Allow me to repeat my basic premise for future: I want ELA to have more impact and be more effective in years to come.
This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of EURES and the 5th anniversary of the European Labour Authority (ELA). These milestones mark significant achievements in our collective effort to enhance fair labour mobility, and opportunity across Europe.
The free movement of labour and the freedom to provide services everywhere in the EU are cornerstones of the Single Market, that we should cherish and protect and at the same time make sure they contribute to more equity – and ELA has proven to be indispensable in this regard almost from the day that it was created.
ELA and EURES have made their mark in the EU landscape and are trusted partners in facilitating access to the Single Market and fair mobility within it. It is now a good moment to reflect on the way forward.
I am glad that ELA has become practical organisation and trusted partner for national authorities, social partners and EC in their efforts to ensure fair and effective labour mobility within the Union
