Key Features:

  • Online training: courses on posting of workers, coordination of social security systems, social aspects in road transport, free movement of workers, as well dealing with situations of establishing rights and obligations in cross-border employment situations.
  • Multilingual access: content available in multiple EU languages for inclusivity.
  • Self-paced learning: learn at your own pace with interactive modules, quizzes, and cases based on real-life situations.
  • Certification: users can obtain a certificate, boosting their professional credentials.

Why it matters:

  • Supports labour mobility: supports the understanding of EU legislation and clarifies the rights and obligations for EU mobile workers, such as where the worker should pay the social security contributions and where to claim the social benefits.
  • Ensures the correct application of the EU social security coordination rules: enhances the understanding of how EU social security coordination rules work in practice, helping both individuals and public authorities to correctly manage cross-border social security cases, such as pensions, healthcare, family benefits, and unemployment benefits.
  • Builds administrative capacity: strengthens the ability of public authorities to implement EU rules and regulations correctly and effectively.
  • Encourages knowledge sharing: fosters cooperation among EU Member States.

By offering free, structured, and user-friendly training, the ELA e-learning platform strengthens the EU’s commitment to fair labour mobility and social security coordination, making it a vital resource for both individuals and institutions. As it evolves, the platform will continue to empower users with the knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of working and living across EU borders.
