As a part of ELA’s activities focused on the displaced persons coming from Ukraine, the European Labour Authority (ELA) has completed a mapping exercise on the measures taken by the EU and EFTA (European Free Trade Association) Member States in the area of employment and social security for displaced persons from Ukraine.

The European Labour Authority, together with the Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Policies and in cooperation with the Spanish Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, held an event in Rome to discuss the transnational aspects of platform work.

Professionals from all 27 Member States in Brussels for the first Training Programme on EU Labour Mobility.

From the 13th to the 17th of June the “Truck & Bus” action week took place on European roads across 7 different Member States. ELA and ROADPOL facilitated the cooperation of Member States authorities. Roadside checks were made in Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Spain.

This week, ELA, together with the European Commission, launched the IMI-PROVE programme under ELA’s Mutual Learning and Understanding Framework. The aim of the programme is to improve the use of the IMI System modules for posting of workers and road transport.

Road transport and seasonal work are the focus areas for 2022. Deadline 15 October 2022.

ELA has published its first two information leaflets for drivers and operators in the road transport sector. One leaflet provides information on the new posting rules, the other leaflet covers driving and resting time rules. Both leaflets are published as part of ELA’s Framework for Action on Road Transport of March 2022.

This week, ELA coordinated several joint inspections with participation of authorities from EU Member States. All in all inspections took place in 8 countries. 18 EU Member states participated in the inspections.

The Belgian authorities organised a joint inspection with participation from Bulgarian authorities on Monday with the support of the European Labour Authority in Zeebrugge, Belgium. The inspection was performed under the direction of the Belgian Labour Prosecutor and the focus was on fight against social dumping. The inspectors checked, in particular, the application of the Mobility Package and the lex-specialis concerning posting of drivers.
